With skin science constantly evolving, it is hard to keep up with the latest types of skin care products and the order in which to use them. Here’s a cheat sheet to the basics you need in your skin care routine.
Step one: cleanse
With all the environmental stressors your face has gone through throughout the day, a cleaning routine is a must. Always wash your face to remove the pollutants and unclog the pores.
Step two: Tone
Your toner is key to wrapping up your cleansing process. Removing that last but of dirt and oil sitting deep in your pores. It gives you hydration and restores the skin back to its natural acidic state.
Step three: treat and target
Your face is fresh and clean at this point. Now it’s time to give it a boost of nutrients and hydration with a serum that promotes skin renewal. Whatever your skin concerns are, there’s a serum for it. The serum also protects the skin from radical damage.
Step four: moisturize
Apply a moisturizer to ensure the skin becomes firmer, smoother and more radiant and fine lines and wrinkles appear less defined. The moisturizer keeps the skin hydrated and pumped all day.
Step five: Sunscreen
Always apply sunscreen to keep the skin protected from the sun damage. Even on cloudy days sunscreen is important.
Lastly, just like fashion, one size doesn’t necessarily fit all when it comes to skin care . Your routine can be modified based on your unique concerns. We are all fearfully and wonderfully created.
