The National Treasury set to Enhance Accountability and Transparency through IFMI System
The National Treasury has enhanced the purchase order and management process in Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) in an effort to improving the efficiency and transparency of payments to suppliers.
The enhancement will enable suppliers to receive Purchase Orders (POs) through the IFMS mails, track their supply orders and invoices as well as receive SMS notifications at every stage of the supply and order.
The system will assist in transparency in government procurement and payments, reduce the loss of documents as they will be downloaded from the Supplier Portfolio and ease access of information to all Kenyans and suppliers.
The platform that is designed by the National Treasury is to be used in both N ational and County Governments to facilitate judicious and transparent financial management in accordance with Section 2 (1) (e) of the Public Finance Management (PFM) Act of 2012.
