The Mount Kenya National Park and Reserve

Lovers of mountain climbing, camping and caving with mountain’s rugged glacier-clad peaks providing the perfect backdrop, then Mount Kenya National Park is the place to visit. The park host Mount Kenya which is the second tallest mountain in Africa standing at 5,199 meters.

The scenery surrounding this Mountain is breathtaking. With dense forest and vegetation, different endangered animal species, lakes, tarns, mineral springs and mountain’s rugged glacier-clad peaks.

The park provides accommodation such as guest house and cottages. Also there are several camping sites located around the park. (For family, friends, institution camping) as visitors keep hiking the mountain. The entry fee is affordable for both citizens and non- residents, and is suitable for both adults and children.

It is located in Central Kenya, about 150 Km from Nairobi City. The park was started in 1949 to protect Mount Kenya and its surrounding Bio diversity.

Remember to bring along your hiking boots, warm wicking socks, a wool or synthetic beanie hat and warm gloves for a comfortable hiking experience.
