Mary is famously known for the songs, Adamu na Eva, Hakuna Mungu Mwingine Ila Jehovah, Ninaishi Kwa Sababu Ya Yesu, Sitapata Mwokozi Kama Yesu just to mention a few of her old songs, which are still relevant in this generation. Her new songs include; Nakuabudu and Mungu Wa Mbinguni.

She gave her perspective of the old gospel music and today’s generational music. “In the old days, you could distinguish between gospel and secular music. Gospel musicians would sing songs with reference to the stories in the Bible and also quote the Bible. Today’s music industry some still do that, but others will sing on social issue and you can not tell if its gospel or not.” She noted.

However, she says she appreciates those who are spreading the gospel. “God has raised remnants in this generation and we thank Him.” She said. Her favourite song from all the songs she has composed and sang is ‘Hakuna Mungu Mwingine Ila Jehovah.’

She was speaking after performing at Parklands Baptist Church during the Sifa Fest. A service that brought people together to worship God.

The singer was also one of the pioneers to be featured in the first gospel show known in Kenya, â€˜sing and shine,’ back in the 1990’s which had a huge impact in the way Kenyan Gospel Music and Industry at large was projected. Back then, the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), was the only TV station.
