Reshaping Kenya’s Businesses Through Technology.

Due to COVID 19, many businesses are still adapting to changes in the working environment. Business people were required to rethink their approach of reaching to their clients and customers. This may be termed as the digital transformation.

There is need to improve technology. The communication channels should also be improved because physical meetings were reduced. This improvements should ensure that customer satisfaction should not come at the expense of employees well-being. Happy employees bring about happy clients.

Adapting to the new technology will help ensure;
• easier, faster and more effective communication
• better, more efficient manufacturing techniques
• less wastage
• more efficient stock management and ordering systems
• the ability to develop new, innovative approaches
• more effective marketing and promotion
• new sales avenues
Business people should also be careful as it may lead to :
• increased dependency on technology
• increased risk of job cuts
• often large costs involved with using the latest technology (especially for small businesses)
• security risk in relation to data and fraud
• can go down or have faults, which can stop all business operations instantly
• closure of high street stores in favour of online business
• required regular updates

As much as technology has some cons, we can say that the pros are more than the cons and more business people should consider digital technology upgrading so that they may be able to;

  • Market and promote their goods and services better and wider.
  • Interact with their customers better.
  • Respond to complaints more effectively.
  • Communicating with stakeholders.
