All About Grace
“Grace” is one of the most important concepts in the Bible, Christianity, and the world. It is most clearly expressed in the promises of God revealed in Scriptures and embodied in Jesus Christ.
In Christian terms, Grace can be generally defined as “God’s favour toward the unworthy” or unmerited favour. God by His Grace forgives and blesses us despite us falling short of living in righteousness.
As Christians, we live every day by the Grace of God. We receive forgiveness according to the riches of God’s Grace, and Grace drives our sanctification. Paul tells us, “the Grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives” (Titus 2:11). Spiritual growth doesn’t happen overnight; we “grow in the Grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 2:18). Grace transforms our desires, motivations, and behaviour.
As Christians we learn that the Gospel is all about God’s Grace through His son Jesus Christ who died so as we could be saved. In the last verse of the Bible the message of Grace is summarised in (revelation 22:11)”The Grace of the Lord Jesus be with all”
It is incredibly encouraging that God’s Grace is both the inclination of the divine heart to treat us better than we deserve and is the extension of that inclination in practical help. Therefore we should pray to God for forgiveness of sin, mercy and more Grace.
